In 2010, Augusta County started a “Revenue Recovery” program in which patients are billed for emergency transport to the hospital. The purpose behind the implementation of the program has been to help offset the increased cost of providing Emergency Medical Services to the community.
Stuarts Draft Rescue Squad receives a portion of the funds collected under the Revenue Recovery program. However, the funds received do not cover all of our operational budget needs for the year. We still depend upon donations from the community to meet our budget goals.
